Complimentary Activities...that means FREE!

Well I guess nothing is truly free, is it? You did pay for the resort however the NOW Jade Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa does have some cool activities to keep you moving so those tacos and umbrella drinks don't create a an air tube around the middle for you.

On their website, I came across a number of activities that you can enjoy. They are:
Two (2) free form fresh water pool with swim up bars. I think swimming up to the swim up bar is an activity, right? Three (3) outdoor lighted tennis courts. Oh Marty is bringing his racket if anyone wants to play. He claims to be a beginner, but I'd be on guard for those slams close to the net...Sun sailing? Not sure what this is... Snorkeling, Hobie Cats & Wind Surfing, Aerobics and a gym with stair climber, elliptical machine, stationary bicycle, treadmills, fitness machine & free weights.

There are more activities and services for additional fee.

2 Davis' 4 Dinner @ NOW Jade...please!

Been surfing the internet a bit to explore and see if I can get any idea of the restaurant scene for the NOW Jade Riviera Cancun Resort. Haven't found much other than 1. names and descriptions of the restaurants 2. which restaurants require a dress code 3. the resort restaurants do not take reservations 4. the seating capacity are small with approximately 10 or so tables per establishment, so potential delay for getting in, count on it!

The reviews seem to vary on opinions and often there are whiners or mix matched hotel guests. So these reviews I take with a grain of salt. However for those guests of ours who have been loyal blogerss...did want to let you know that Roger and I will be checking out each of the restaurants during our stay and on Wednesday after our cocktail reception. We will try out the 'Tamarindo", mexican cuisine....hopefully this will be the easiest to get in...we shall see or maybe change out at the last minute?

Oh and all else fails, because you decided to hang out at the bar...don't forget room service it's part of the all inclusive service and 24 hours to boot!

Resort Transfers...what do I do?

Alright you got off the plane, made it through immigration, baggage claim and through customs. You have all your stuff and don't know what to do?

Apple Vacation is our operator and as part of your all-inclusive resort package it also included a Round-Trip transfer from the airport to the resort and yes back again (did you not pay attention, round-trip). As indicated in your documents we are suppose to walk out of the airport secured area for ticketed passengers and find the Apple Vacation representative who has an ID badge, dresses in a flower Hawaiian style shirt & pants. But be cautious, there are IMITATORS and HUSTLERS trying to hit on you to sign-up for timeshare opportunities, transportation services and who knows what other "you don't want to miss this deal of a lifetime opportunity, mi amigo". Stop! Focus! And look for the person who should be ID with the Apple Vacation regardless of their colorful shirt and uniform. You're looking for APPLE VACATION and going to the NOW Jade Riviera Cancun Resort...remember that, muy importante!

Once you connect then you should be fine...the ride is about 20-30 minutes from the airport. So relax and catch your breathe....breathe in & breathe out!

Other Things To Do...besides the resort?!

Not that there is anything wrong with hanging around our resort. It's truly one of the highlights of the Riviera Maya. After all you will soon see by the growth and development of hotels and other resorts along the shoreline that this in itself is a major attraction. So if you just want the sun and hang out, please do so and enjoy... "oh pool boy!"

However for those curious for more? Roger and I will only be offering these two excursions for a no-host option excursion: Coba/Tulum Ruins & Cenote plus the Cenote Scuba Diving that Alex has graciously offered to lead as she is our resident Scuba Diver expert. Just ask her where she journeyed to dive, oh my! So sign up for either excursions and explore the option below by adding one or two more adventures and you will find that your week will be over in a flash. Here are some ideas that you will need to further your research or talk to the resort concierge when you get there for possible excursion options. But remember relaxation is okay too!

Xcaret Park - eco-themed recreational waterpark.

Cozumel - require a ferry ride to the Island of Cozumel. Check with resort concierge for transportation and with Russell and randy who will have completed a pre-Now jade resort stay!

Playa del Carmen-shopping, looking, drinking & eating are the professional sport here in this town. Check with concierge about transportation. Might want to share a cab ride?

Cancun - if you want the hustle & bustle of the city. Cancun is your place with beaches, hotel zones, shopping, restaurants & bars...on a much larger scale then anything on the Riviera Maya!

Chichen Itza - More ruins? Here's wonders of the world for ruins! It's about 100 miles one way from our resort. So if Coba & Tulum wasn't enough...you will need to ask the resort concierge for options.
